Catholic Schools’ Week

Faith, Academics, Service

Our children at St. Francis of Assisi Preschool embody FAITH  in many ways:

Two little eyes to look to God,
Two little ears to hear His Word,
Two little feet to walk in His Ways,
Two little lips to sing His Praise,
Two little hands to do His Will and
One little heart to love Him still.

Bishop Burbidge wishes us well on our 20th Anniversary!

And  ACADEMICS for our Preschoolers mean that, upon graduation from the 4-year old program, they have the skills necessary to be successful in Kindergarten.  Socialization, Gross and Fine Motor Skills, Emotional Preparedness, Sequencing, Sorting, Grouping, and many more!

Our SERVICE is an ongoing process that involves both the children and the families.  We have just wrapped up a whole-school clothing and toy drive for Catholic Parish Outreach and collected over 1,000 pounds of children’s clothing, toys, books and accessories!  This coming month, the 2-year old classes will be making Hot Cocoa Kits and Valentines for the children who come to be fed at the Safety Club by St. Francis Feeds.  It is a wonderful ministry that everyone can participate in, once a month, by purchasing the supplies needed for making the suppers or by volunteering to come and serve the families that come.  Contact Donna Mariani at donnaM@nc.rr.com for more information or to volunteer.

Another aspect of SERVICE is that we, the Preschool, are here to serve our families.  We just hosted a Stewardship Ministry Fair in January to help families find ways in which to give of their time and their talents while still being at home with young children.  There are many ministries in this parish that fit that bill.  If you missed the Fair and would like an overview of the ministries that would be most flexible for young families, click here to see a summary and contact information.
